The 9th Annual Jimmie Johnson Foundation Golf Tournament, Presented by Lowe’s Raises an Event Record $900,000
The Jimmie Johnson Foundation announced today that its annual Jimmie Johnson Foundation Golf Tournament and Dinner raised $900,000, an event record.
“This is such a great event,” said Johnson. “Chani (wife) and I are so thankful to everyone that supports us and to sponsors like Lowe’s, that believe in supporting the vision of the Foundation. We are excited that the Foundation can continue funding projects that address critical needs in K-12 public schools.”
Today, during a Google+ Hangout, Jimmie Johnson along with Mike Wells, President and CEO of Wells Enterprises, maker of Blue Bunny Ice Cream, revealed the Blue Bunny Helmet of Hope to the five charities that are featured on the helmet. Johnson will wear the helmet this weekend during the Pocono 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway, where his No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet will feature a special Jimmie Johnson Foundation paint scheme.
The Jimmie Johnson Foundation announced today the five recipients of this year’s $25,000 Blue Bunny Helmet of Hope grants. The Blue Bunny Helmet of Hope is a program that allows fans and consumers across the country to nominate not-for-profit (501c3) organizations that support K-12 public education for the chance to win one of five (5) available grant packages.
