CHARLOTTE, N.C. (October 3, 2018) – Following the NASCAR race weekend at the Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway Roval, Jimmie Johnson hosted the 12th Annual Jimmie Johnson Foundation Golf Tournament at Quail Hollow Club on Monday, October 1, 2018. The event raised $500,000 to fund grants to K-12 public schools.

“Chani (wife) and I are so grateful for partners like the Mitchell Family Foundation,” Johnson said. “With the help of all of our event sponsors and supporters, we can provide funding for critical needs in K-12 public schools. We’re excited to show students and teachers that we support them.”

The tournament, which in twelve years has raised more than $7.5 Million, benefits the Champions Grant program. The grants range from $20,000-$75,000 and are distributed to K-12 public schools in Chandra and Jimmie Johnson’s hometowns in California and Oklahoma, and where they currently reside in North Carolina.

Johnson, the seven-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion, hosted 76 golfers at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina for Monday’s event.

Recipients of the 2018 Champions Grant program will be announced later in the year.
