The Jimmie Johnson Foundation and Carvana are teaming up to drive brighter futures in K-12 public schools. Through this partnership, we strive to enhance educational opportunities and foster a passion for automotive and engineering careers among students by providing essential resources and financial support to existing Automotive and Engineering CTE programs.
ABOUT JJF: DRIVING BRIGHTER FUTURES WITH CARVANA
JJF: Driving Brighter Futures with Carvana is open to Automotive and Engineering Career & Technical Education programs in public schools, serving grades K-12, in the contiguous United States.
Up to twenty (20) nominated schools will be selected as semi-finalists based on the quality of the nominations, and at the discretion of the Jimmie Johnson Foundation and Carvana. Semi-finalists will be asked to submit a video and written application. One (1) grant recipient will be selected from the semi-finalist application submissions.
The school selected to receive the Driving Brighter Futures grant will choose one of the following:
- $45,000 cash grant
- $35,000 cash grant and a shop car valued at $10,000.
ELIGIBILITY
- Any existing and certified Automotive or Engineering career & technical education (CTE) program, in a public school serving grades K-12, in the contiguous United States is eligible to be nominated.
- Charter school Automotive and Engineering CTE programs, serving grades K-12, are eligible
- Individuals must be 18 years of age or older to submit a nomination.
- Individuals can only submit one (1) nomination, however, schools can be nominated by multiple people.
TIMELINE
- Deadline to submit nominations: 8:00pm ET on Friday, August 28, 2026
- Schools selected as semi-finalists will be announced by Monday, September 21, 2026
- Driving Brighter Futures grant recipient will be announced by Thursday, December 31, 2026
NOMINATION DETAILS

- Nominations will be accepted until 8:00pm ET on Friday, August 28, 2026.
- In order for a nomination to be considered, it must include the name of the school, city and state where school is located, contact information for a school staff person, and the reason why the school needs the grant.
GRANT DETAILS
- One (1) school will be selected to receive the Driving Brighter Futures Grant
- Driving Brighter Futures Grant Recipient will select EITHER (a) a $45,000 cash grant OR (b) a $35,000 cash grant and shop car valued at $10,000
