The Jimmie Johnson Foundation teamed up with San Diego Habitat for Humanity to help families in need in Jimmie’s hometown of El Cajon, California.  In February 2007, the foundation and SDHFH embarked on a mission to identify land to build a home in El Cajon, CA.  Based on the success of the inaugural Jimmie Johnson Foundation Golf Tournament, the foundation was able to contribute the funds necessary to assist with the purchase of the land and build two homes.  In 2008, the foundation committed the funds for two additional homes on the same block.  As a result, Chandra and Jimmie had the opportunity to name the newly created street, Foundation Lane

Jimmie and Chandra celebrated the completion of the four San Diego Habitat for Humanity homes with a special Parade of Homes Event on October 6, 2009.

The new homeowners were on hand to give a tour of their homes and share their stories of what it means to be a homeowner.  Jimmie and Chandra commemorated the event by leaving hand print molds on the sidewalk with the families.  Be sure to check out the photos in the photo gallery.
