2010 Champions Grant Program
Due to the overwhelming need for additional tools and resources for educators and parents, the Jimmie Johnson Foundation has teamed up with Lowe’s Toolbox for Education again in 2010 to continue the Champions Grant program. The Champions Grant program will distribute funds to K-12 educational programs in Chandra and Jimmie Johnson’s hometowns in California, North Carolina and Oklahoma.
These special Toolbox for Education Champions Grants will range in size from $25,000- $99,999.

Application Process
There are up to four steps involved in the application process. If your online application is advanced, the grants committee will contact you to request the supplemental information.

Step 4 - Potential site visit (at the discretion of the grants committee)
Eligibility
Any public K-12 school or any 501c(3) parent group association in the districts below are eligible to apply. Please note that schools and parent groups must be more than 2 years old. Eligible school districts are:
California
Cajon Valley Union School District
Grossmont Union High School District
San Diego Unified School District
North Carolina
Cabarrus County School District
Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools
Iredell-Statesville Schools
Mooresville Graded School District
Oklahoma
Hilldale Public Schools
Muskogee Independent School District 20/Muskogee Public Schools
Tulsa Public Schools
Charter Schools
Any charter school geographically located within the eligible school districts may apply.
Application Dates: July 15, 2010 through October 15, 2010.
*All grants must be submitted by 5pm EST on October 15, 2010.
Grants will be awarded by December 31, 2010.

If your school is not located in one of the eligible school districts listed above, unfortunately, you are not eligible for a Champions Grant. You may still be eligible for the standard Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant program. Please visit http://www.toolboxforeducation.com/ to learn more.
